Recycling Fund: Recycle Tennis Ball Project- AFTERLIFE
We are excited to announce that “Recycling Fund: Recycle Tennis Ball Project- AFTERLIFE” an initiative introduced by Sports for Hope Foundation have received funding support from the Hong Kong Recycling Fund, making us the first sports consumable recycling project in the city to receive government support.
There are 64 AFTERLIFE collection bins located in 55 sites across Hong Kong, we are committed to reducing waste and promoting sustainability in the sports community. Our tennis ball recycling process involves collecting abandoned tennis balls, chopping them into rubber crumb before burning them as an alternative fuel for local factories.
Through this process, we are able to achieve our goal of zero landfill and all of the recycling is done within Hong Kong, resulting in the lowest carbon footprint possible.
